Monroe Street Market-Brookland, Washington, D.C.- A Look Ahead

Monroe Street Market- Transforming Brookland, Washington, D.C.

This new mixed-use development proposed to be completed in multiple phases will change the once desolate Brookland neighborhood into a pedestrian friendly destination. Some of DC`s biggest developers are looking ahead to a neighborhood filled with local attractions.

The development will consist of both residential and retail units. 700 apartments along with 45 townhomes are slated to be constructed. Additionally, there will be 80,000 SQFT of retail space and 15,000 SQFT of residential space dedicated to working artists. At a cost of $200 million dollars, this project will help unite the community. Much of the area is dedicated to the students of Catholic University and for years, these students have found little in terms of shopping or dinning. When the project is completed, these students should have many choices to choose from.

Names like Abdo Development, Bozzuto and Pritzker Realty Group are among some of the parties involved in the construction. The developers are teaming with the University in hopes of creating a united front with residents and students alike. To read more about Monroe Street Market, click on the following link.
